Al-Warraq Island development is a part of the Egyptian Government’s vision to develop Cairo into a 21st Century Global City. This project will set a new standard in Egypt’s modernization initiatives, over the next decade, by offering a high international standard and quality of life for the residents of Cairo.
The MoHUUC approved the general strategic plan for the development of a new urban community of Al-Warraq Island proposed to be developed on stages, at an investment cost of EGP 10.5 billion with investment cost for the first stage amounting to EGP 2 billion, including construction works, the development of the corniche, and the main infrastructure works.
Hydro scope:
Hydro is assigned the design of infrastructure works including: water supply, sewerage and storm drainage networks, pumping stations, water treatment plant, wastewater treatment plant, in addition to other utilities as telecommunication.and EIA considerations.
