Project Description

Pioneering regional sustainability in West Cairo, this project establishes an integrated, high-capacity wastewater network that collects municipal sewage from the 1st Stage of New Sphinx City, Jiryan, and the 1st Phase of Zayed City for advanced tertiary recycling at the 6th of October Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). Our current design scope focuses on the lifting stage for the 1st Stage of New Sphinx City Q=2555 Liter /Sec., engineering a pump station with mechanical screens, an optimized wet well, and heavy-duty centrifugal pumps to drive the raw sewage through a 13 km pressurized force main. This line—along with a separate feeder line handling the Jiryan and Zayed City flows—terminates at a central, anti-corrosive concrete collecting chamber that dissipates hydraulic energy and drops the line pressure. From this chamber, the merged wastewater flows into a large-diameter with a length of an approximate 19 km collecting gravity line, naturally guiding the combined volume to the October WWTP without further mechanical pumping to be purified for safe public landscape irrigation.

Scope of Work

The scope of work comprises the complete engineering design package for the New Sphinx Sewage Pumping Station, including the inlet chamber, mechanical screening facilities, wet well, pump sump, centrifugal pumps, valve chamber, surge protection system, odor control and ventilation systems, electrical and control buildings, standby power supply, SCADA and instrumentation systems, together with the 15 km, DN1500 wastewater force main, the connection chamber integrating flows from New Sphinx, Jiryan, and Zayed City, and the approximately 19 km large-diameter gravity wastewater transmission line conveying the combined flows to the 6th of October Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).

The engineering package includes all hydraulic, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control (I&C), and architectural designs, as well as design calculations, technical specifications, construction drawings, bills of quantities, cost estimates, and tender documents, providing a complete and integrated solution for a reliable and sustainable wastewater transmission system.
