Project Description

Al-Warraq Island, located in the Nile River in Giza Governorate, is a major urban development project aimed at enhancing Greater Cairo. Part of Egypt’s vision to transform Cairo into a 21st century global city, the project will set new standards for modernization and offer a high quality of life to residents. The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities (MoHUUC) has approved the strategic plan for developing a new urban community on the island, with a total investment of EGP 10.5 billion. The first phase, costing EGP 2 billion, includes construction, corniche development, and essential infrastructure works, with additional plans for residential, commercial, and public facilities.

Scope of Work

Urgent Phase (68 Feddans): The utility network is summarized as follows:

Sewage Network: length of 3510 m with diameters ranging from 200 mm to 700 mm.

Stormwater Drainage Network: length of 4685 m with diameters ranging from 160 mm to 630 mm.

Water and FF Network: length of 13 km with diameters ranging from 63 mm to 710 mm.

Irrigation Network: length of 8 km with diameters ranging from 32 mm to 200 mm.

Compact Wastewater treatment plant : capacity of 3600 m3/day

Complete Strategic Plan for 1500 Feddans:

Sewage Network: Diameters from 160 mm to 1700 mm.

Stormwater Drainage Network: Diameters from 200 mm to 1200 mm.

Water Network: Diameters from 50 mm to 1400 mm.

Irrigation Network: Diameters from 50 mm to 1000 mm.

Telecommunication Infrastructure: Network design for providing telecommunications, internet, and cable services across the development.
