Project Description

The project involves building a sewage pumping station and a force main pipeline system to serve New Cairo and the New Administrative Capital in Egypt. It includes the installation of pre-stressed and reinforced concrete pipes, manholes, air chambers, GRP covers, washing chambers, valves, elbows, and a pressure relief chamber. Tunneling or open excavation methods will be used for certain crossings. Electrical and control systems, featuring Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), along with control, power, and fiber optic cables, will ensure efficient operation and communication.

Scope of Work

Full design package and the construction supervision of  :

The Force main:

  • 25,000 linear meters of pre-stressed concrete pipes (1600 mm diameter, PN 10) with internal steel cylinders.
  • 1225 meters of reinforced concrete pipes (3400 mm diameter).
  • Manholes, chambers, air chambers, wall connections, GRP covers, and joints, washing chambers, valves, elbows, flow meters, and a pressure relief chamber.
  • Nine crossings (3400 mm diameter, 45 to 185 meters in length), constructed using tunneling or open excavation methods.
  • Medium voltage electrical and control works, including an RTU control system, control cables, power cables, and fiber optic cables.

The Sewage Pump Station (4) spans an area of 317m by 130m, and its components include:

  • A Pump House housing 8 pumps, each with a capacity of 1330 L/sec (equivalent to 114,912 m³/day per pump) and a head of 28 meters.
  • Various essential buildings and facilities, such as the Inlet Building, Mechanical Screening and Sand Removal, Administrative Building, Storage and Workshop, Security Room, Fuel Tank, and both Medium and Low Voltage Generator Buildings.
  • Additional infrastructure includes a Distributor Building, Mosque, Water Hammer Tank, Flow Measurement Room, Crossing Pump Room, Screening Building, Fire Tank, and Control and Monitoring Building.
  • The station is also equipped with Emergency Pumps to ensure operational reliability.
