Project Description

The Integrated Sewage System for Borg El Arab City, Alexandria, Egypt, is a key infrastructure project aimed at improving wastewater management in the rapidly growing city. The current system is limited, with many areas relying on basic septic tanks. The future system will expand the sewage network, upgrade treatment plants, and incorporate water reuse for irrigation and industrial use. This project will enhance public health, reduce environmental pollution, and promote sustainable water management, supporting the city’s development and long-term sustainability.

Scope of Work

  • Survey work.
  •  Concept design.
  •  Detailed design.
  •  Tender documents for the following tasks.
  •  Develop a general layout for the new sewage network, pumping stations, and treatment plants in Borg El Arab.
  •  Ensure integration with the existing infrastructure.
  •  Review and assess both existing and new treatment plants to determine their combined capacity and performance.
  •  Connect all components via a SCADA system.
  •  Evaluate the current performance of the Phase 1 aerated oxidation ponds.
  •  Analyze various operational scenarios.
  •  Identify operational adjustments to reduce suspended solids and COD levels exceeding discharge limits.
  •  Assess the overall capacity of the integrated existing sewage system.
  • Design of force main with diameter 560 mm and length 1,726 meter.
