13 Pumping Stations, Sewage & Agricultural Drainage Collection Project,

The New Delta Project is a flagship initiative for Egypt’s future, representing one of the country’s  largest agricultural endeavors. It aims to reclaim over 1 million feddans of desert land to the west of the Nile Delta. Spanning a total of 2.2 million feddans, including infrastructure developments, the project seeks to increase Egypt’s cultivated land by 15% through a combination of treated agricultural drainage, groundwater, and surface water. The project covers approximately 688,000 feddans south of the Dabaa axis and west of the old delta. ØA key component of the project is the collection and transportation of agricultural drainage water from the North Delta to the treatment plant, facilitated by a 165 km network f open channels and pipelines. Thirteen pump stations, strategically distributed along a 114 km stretch, are integral to this process, playing a vital role in the collection and transfer of sewage and agricultural drainage, with a combined capacity of 6 million cubic meters per day.
